Replacing Drinking with New Hobbies
06.07
If you have asked yourself the question — what is alcohol abuse — or simply want to quit drinking alcohol completely, it is important that you find new hobbies and practices to learn new coping mechanisms and increase your overall happiness. For many people, quitting drinking can leave a void in their lives that they may need to fill with new activities. However, it is extremely important that you fill this void with positive activities rather than new addictions or negative behaviors. So, if you enjoy art or are a creative person, you may wish to take up photography, music, writing, pottery, crafts, sculpting, drawing, painting, acting or dancing. Regardless of which specific activity you choose, the important thing is that you’re getting out and staying active while creating your own works of art to be proud of. If you have trouble picking one of these activities, feel free to try several out to see which ones suit you best.
Collier Falls Vineyards
03.29
Barry and Susan Collier purchased one hundred acres in the extreme northwest corner of the Dry Creek Valley to start their vineyard, with one of the finest views of the Sonoma Lake from anywhere in the area. Immediately a good wine gift choice Collier Falls Vineyards does not have to purchase grapes from anyone because all their wine is estate grown. Total produce is only three thousand cases of wine per year with about half that number being Zinfandel and another ten per cent of the total being Primitivo which is the Italian version of Zinfandel, having only genetically split around one hundred years ago. Smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Syrah help round out this all red portfolio, which fits well with growing conditions in the vineyard. These are typical wines fro the region in that their are ripe and rich, yet the quality level of Collier often surpasses it’s neighbors.
